How to Add Questions to a Skill Builder™ Assignment: 2025–26 School Year


  1. Alert We recommend keeping assignments under 30 questions.  

  2. 1. Once an assignment has been made, to add questions to it, click on the orange assessment card. You can also add questions by choosing the kebab in the lower right corner of the assignment card; click “Edit Assessment.” 


  1. 2. From the Item Bank drop down menu, choose the course you would like to select questions from. You will have access to all courses licensed to your school. 

  

  1. 4. To preview a question, click on the kebab in the lower right corner of the question card to see the question. Note: A question in a green box is a singular question. A question in a blue box is a multi-part question. 



 


  1. 5. Select the check box next to any question you are interested in. These items will be added to your Items Selected cart. 



 


  1. 6. Once you have selected items, choose “Add Items.” This will take you to the Editor screen. 



 

  1. 7. From the Editor screen, you can place questions individually or all items at once. You do not need to place all selected questions but note that questions that remain on the left side of the screen will not be in the assignment. Once items are placed in the assignment, you may reorder them by clicking “Randomize, using the arrows next to the question to move its position, or clicking on a question and dragging and dropping it in the order of your choosing. 



 

8.  After adding items to the assignment, you have three options in the upper right corner: 
  1. a. Add More Items: This takes you back to the Question Selection page and allows you to add more questions by following the steps listed above. 

  1. b. Preview: This will allow you to see your assignment. 

  1. c. Exit: This will take you back to the Skill Builder™ assignment page. This is the option to choose when you are ready to print your assignment. 



 

  1. 9. Now that you have created an assignment, consult “How to Print a Skill Builder™ Assignment.”
